Goats are Courting
Well Bam Bam and Petals have finally begun the courting process. I noticed this behavior last Sunday. We are hoping when mating season comes around, which is this fall, that we can be expecting a kid from Petals. I didnt notice any courting behavior last year, so this is quite hopeful.

Chari:You can often expect twins and sometimes triplets from goats. Also, has the buck started to smell his musky odor yet? It's almost worse than a skunk LOL.
Love your farm journal Jessica!

Jessica:That would be fun if she had twins! I know the couple we got the goats from had just had a couple of twin sets born.
And OH yea he stinks. He didnt when we first got him, but he is awful now.
Thanks Chari...I hope to keep this one updated along with my caravan of journals hehe.

Chari:To me, buck odor has to be the worst part of goat husbandry. We kept out buck far away from the house and I tried to handle him the least possible. Especially during breeding season when they urined on their beards - nasty!
But the Doe's and the kids were so sweet it made it all worth it. Even on cold mornings when I had to milk and then bottle feed the babies.
Will you be milking?
