The Chicken Hawk

As we were doing our projects outside today we kept hearing this bird that somehow stuck out in our minds, Brian & mine, that is. It was knawing each of us because after looking back on it, we both would periodically look up to see the bird which was making all the noise. Eventually as it got louder and louder we peered into the pretty blue sky and saw a light colored chicken hawk circling, though he was riding the winds upward. He was still making his presence known. We walked down to what we call the "barnyard", which is the fenced in area that contains the chickens, turkeys, and goats, along with the coop that all the animals like to get into and sleep. There the chickens were nestled closely under the coop, the goats, turkeys and chickens were motionless. There was an eerie silence amongst them as if to echo the sentiment in Nemo as the pelican whispers to Nemo's dad and Dory "don?t move a muscle". So evidently they knew the call of the hawk. And they were all looking out for each other by not drawing undue attention toward our barnyard flock.
Yesterday we gave Bam Bam and Petals a bath. Bam Bam being the needy one in that regard! It was really funny since we only had some shampoo that was frangranced with "white lilly". After bam bam had recieved his bathing and rinsing and let go to join his companion, she took one sniff and balked at him and ran off. I guess she was letting him know she thought he smelled awful. It was funny!
